Welcome to BOOK ENDS!

NEW SPRING HOURS!

We are open 10-6 Monday - Friday // 10-5 Saturdays // 12-5 Sundays

In order to provide a safe environment for all of our customers and employees, please follow the enter/exit door signs and know that we require hand sanitizing upon entry to the store and the wearing of a face mask that covers both the mouth and nose for all customers during the entirety of your visit.

We are happy to offer curbside pickup for those who feel they cannot adhere to these important safety guidelines. We want our customers to be confident that they are in a safe environment while enjoying one of life's pleasures-- browsing in an independent bookstore. Thank you for your support from the whole Book Ends team!

Our customer capacity is limited to 20 at a time. We have been hard at work rearranging and spreading out bookshelves and card racks, cleaning, improving ventilation, and installing new plastic shields at the registers. We have also reduced the seating capacity for customers, but will eagerly bring the comfortable chairs back when it feels safer to do so.

We are happy to continue to take phone and web orders, as described below.

For BOOKS:

*Pickup orders can be started by phone at 781-721-5933 or through this website at https://bookendswinchester.indielite.org. Please note that website titles DO NOT necessarily reflect our onsite inventory -- there is always the possibility that we will need to special order for you.

*Home delivery orders will continue through our BookShop site at https://bookshop.org/shop/bookendswinchester. Please make sure that our Bookshop logo  is in the top left corner of your webpage *before* you fill your cart, or we won't get commission for your sale.

* Due to the pandemic and post office over-crowding we will not be directly SHIPPING until after the Covid-19 threat is significantly reduced. The only shipping option currently is therefore through our BookShop site, as described directly above.

For EVERYTHING ELSE:

Pickup orders can be started by phone at 781-721-5933. We encourage you to keep an eye out on social media or on our storefront window displays in Winchester Center for ideas. Look for greeting card options and family activities in this way! Gift certificates are always available.

And finally: we encourage you to continue to use our https://bookshop.org/shop/bookendswinchester site for your books and puzzles— and for gifts and gift cards for friends and family anywhere in the country! We get a generous commission from all your orders and the organization supports independent bookstores around the country. Please make sure that our Bookshop logo is in the top left corner of your webpage *before* you fill your cart, or we won't get the credit-- It’s easy earnings for us, which is always appreciated. Thank you!

BOOK ENDS is a quintessential New England Independent Bookstore, located in the heart of Winchester Center since 1984.  While quaint in appearance, we are totally modern in our customer service, ordering direct from all major publishers for quick and easy special ordering and restocking.  We partner with area schools and businesses to offer competitive pricing on book orders, and we have a rotating schedule of local and bestselling authors in the store for free events.
